The Evaluator's institute builds and supports quality in evaluation practice through concentrated professional development and harnesses thought leadership to support innovative evaluation applications.

It is a very public facing organization and has many applicants and visitors daily.

The first site for the Institute was developed in the early 2000's and had all the earmarks of a site that was developed as such. The structure was half way between tables and columns and CSS development but at the time CSS was not mature enough to handle the requirements they were looking for.

With HTML5 and CSS3 their vision was able to become a reality. The concept was designed in tandem with the founders and leaders of the organization as they had a great feel for the audience that they were reaching for and had a fantastic grasp on the types of daily visitors.

The big conundrum of the design of the site was the fact that they did not want to have a developer on retainer nor did they have an in-house development or maintenance team. The solution was the creation of a simple structured site that utilized template structure of Adobe Dreamweaver wherein multiple pages created with the same template could be edited simultaneously therefore reducing redundant work and implementation.

Because of the sheer number of pages belonging to the site, the template structure using Dreamweaver became imperative to maintenance.

The color scheme was decided upon after a trial-and-error work-through in which various users were tested to see which colors seemed more pleasing to the eye.
