This site was created with the intention of having it be ubiquitous across different platforms i.e. desktop computers and mobile devices.

It was really fun to make because it utilized a lot of different technologies from across the web.

The site was designed using the Adobe CS5 suite. The images were processed and edited in Photoshop, the coding was done in Dreamweaver, and the structure was built in Fireworks.

The site was entirely hand built using the (at the time) new standards of HTML5 and CSS3. Using HTML5 and CSS3, besides being more robust and having more functionality, eliminated the need for users to have Adobe Flash in order to view the website. This means that users with Apple iOS devices would be able to see exactly the same thing as an Android phone user.

Simplicity is key in this design. Only pertinent information and content is displayed and can be viewed by the user. The site also needed to be ascetically pleasing and very easy to use. The navigation links are free floating on the web page somewhat blending into the background. When highlighted, a selection bar created in CSS3 streams across the screen and showcases a user's selection with a brief description of what the link contains.

In order to promote a new kind of user experience, the site was created with jQuery actions that:

o Make the background a slide show. The images are preloaded in order to speed up connection time.

o Resize the website to whatever resolution the browser or screen has. The website keeps its size constraints no matter the size i.e. no matter how big or small the windows becomes the website will always be resized with no stretching or image degradation and look the same.

o Made a blending transition between the images in the background slideshow.

When a link is selected, instead of being redirected to another page, a jQuery function fades the menu out and the selected information. This helps keep distractions to a minimum and focuses the user on the content.
